Stuck on Your 2025 Goals? Here’s How to Get Unstuck and Start Fresh!

Is Anybody Else Feeling Stuck When It Comes to Thinking About Your Goals for the New Year?

Well, let me just say—you are not alone. I’ve been feeling the same way. Of course, I can think of broader things I want to work on, like saving more money, sticking to a budget, getting outside to experience the world more, and let’s not forget exercising to stay healthy. But when it comes to being specific, my mind goes blank.

We all know comparison is the thief of joy, but it’s hard not to feel a little behind when everyone else seems to have their 2025 vision boards ready or their goal lists mapped out. Meanwhile, I’m over here like, "Okay...but what about me?"

If you’re in the same boat, don’t worry—this post is here to help! Together, we’re going to simplify goal-setting while staying true to our values and priorities.

Why Does Goal-Setting Feel So Overwhelming?

Goal-setting can feel like a mountain to climb when:

  • You think your goals aren’t specific enough.
  • You don’t know where to start.
  • You’re afraid of failure.

Oh, just the mention of failure gives me chills! But here’s the thing—we can’t avoid setting goals just because of what we think might happen. Instead, let’s approach this with positive thinking and give ourselves grace. And let’s not just stick to the easy stuff that we know we can crush. The real growth comes when we challenge ourselves to work for it.

5 Steps to Simplify Goal-Setting for 2025

1. Start with Themes or Areas of Focus

Think of your goals in terms of broader themes like self-care, relationships, health, personal growth, or career.

  • Choose 2–3 themes to guide your year.
  • For me, I’m focusing on Self-Care, Personal Growth, and Health.

2. Reflect on What Matters Most

Take a moment to think about what’s really important to you. Ask yourself:

  • What do I want to improve?
  • What brought me joy in 2024 that I want to continue?
  • What’s one thing I didn’t accomplish in 2024 that I still want to pursue in 2025, and why does it matter to me?
Writing these down in a self-care journal can help clarify your thoughts.

3. Break Down Big Goals into Small Actions

Big goals can feel overwhelming, so break them into bite-sized steps.

  • For example, one of my goals is to take better care of myself. I’m already getting my nails done once a month, and in 2025, I want to add getting my hair done regularly too.

4. Set Realistic and Flexible Goals

When it comes to health, I know I want to get serious about working out, but I’m not going to set myself up for failure by saying I’ll work out every day. Why?

  1. I didn’t work out consistently in 2024.
  2. I have a busy daily schedule.
  3. Rest days are important!

The key is to stay flexible and realistic—perfection isn’t the goal; progress is.

5. Use Tools to Stay Organized

  • One tool I’ve found incredibly helpful is a non-dated planner. The beauty of a non-dated design is that you can start anytime without feeling like you’ve "missed the boat." My planner from Glam Ace Boutique is perfect for this—it lets you map out your goals, track your progress, and pivot when life gets busy. Plus, it’s super cute and motivational, which makes planning something to look forward to!
  • If you’re feeling stuck, a printable goal-setting template can be a game-changer. I’ve created one for Glam Ace Boutique that helps you break down broad goals into actionable steps. It’s simple, powerful, and available now on my site!

How I’m Approaching 2025 Goals

For my goals, I’m focusing on Self-Care, Personal Growth, and Health. I plan to:

  • Continue taking care of myself by getting my nails done monthly and adding hair appointments to my routine.
  • Take my health seriously by easing into a realistic fitness routine that allows for rest days.
  • Stay organized with tools like my non-dated planner and goal-setting templates from Glam Ace Boutique.

You’re Not Alone—Let’s Do This Together

Feeling stuck is normal, but the important thing is to take it one step at a time. You don’t need to have everything figured out right away—progress happens little by little.

Let’s work together to make 2025 our best year yet. What themes or goals are you focusing on this year? I’d love to hear them—drop a comment below or share your thoughts on social media!
